1040: Christianity in the New Asia

Alright here's the break down.
Pros:
1. Show the heart of Asia (hungry for a touch of God)
2. Clips from South Korea gives lessons to the elders that it is not to late to come to Christ. IT IS good to wake up early morning to pray, if fact we should.
3. Clips from China shows that churches don't need laser-lights, disco lights, big stage, big mega shows, post modern pop christian artists to attract people to come to church. When the Holy Spirit works, it doesn't matter how small the church-building is, people can truly have intimacy with God.
4. The movie has few famous Asian artists, so OUR youth group can relate to it. (it is relevant to the target audience, for me). The guy from Meteor Garden is kinda famous..I'm surprise when DVD showed the Indonesian's clip, the people there couldn't recognize him. lol.
Also, I'm so proud of Jin The MC. I hope someone can mentor him in his walk, otherwise he might just do the talk not the walk. God bless him...

Everyone should watch this
Jaeson Ma did a great job producing this movie about what God is doing in Asia. Everyone should watch this, especially every Christian in the West.

lifts the lid on the true nature of the "church growth" movement
A perhaps unintended outcome of this documentary is its accurate depiction of what kind of "Christianity" is proliferating in mission fields these days--namely, the Charismatic, hip-hop, mystical stuff that bears scant resemblance to the Spirit-enabled missionary work in the Book of Acts.
Emotional manipulation rules the day from South Korea to Singapore, and Neo-Ozmanian "missionaries" in Taiwan practise a bizarre form of "prophetic evangelism," involving the use of visualization where they imagine and then find some guy on a motorbike and then ask if he would marry his girlfriend because the evangelists had seen a vision of a wedding ring on fire (in one of the Special Features).
The rest of it looks like run-of-the-mill Christian rock music, health-and-wealth, sort of stuff, and Asia needs it like they need a hole in the head.
Whom shall YHWH send, who will know nothing among them but Christ and Him crucified, who will tell would-be disciples to deny themselves, take...
