Give Me Your Monstrous, Your Demonic, Your Deformed Masses Yearning To Get A Work Visa
Crude? To be sure. Rude? Absolutely. Lewd? Possibly. It is tempting to dismiss "Ugly Americans" as an amusingly offensive trifle, but I'm not going to do it. Dreamed up from the demented psyches of creators Devin Clark and David M. Stern, "Ugly Americans" is not only uproarious--it is perhaps one of the most on-target and irreverent satires about immigration services in existence today! An animated comedy/horror hybrid developed for Comedy Central, the show is populated by creatures from every realm--humans, demons, aliens, zombies, vampires, wizards and other freaks too numerous to outline.
Set in New York's Department of Integration, the show is built around liberal milquetoast Mark Lilly--a human social worker trying to acclimate various beasties into jobs and society in general. Mark is surrounded at work by a bombastic demon boss, a half succubus/half human girlfriend, and a 500 year old wizard caseworker. At home, Mark shares his digs with a zombie roommate...
A good start
I bought this dvd thinking it was all season 1, sadly it is only a handful of episodes. I was a little more than disappointed by low number of episodes, but I still like the show. Next time though when volume 2 comes I will waiting for it to be on sale before purchasing.
